BlackBerry confirmed it's New Slider Smartphone which will run on the Android operating system.
The company was telling this idea from last few month and confirmed in March that they will launch an Android Powered Smartphone someday this year.
"Today, in BlackBerry's Second Quarter Result Report (September 25, 2015) CEO Mr. John Chen confirmed the device name ▬ The BacckBerry Priv ▬ after Company's heritage and core purpose of protecting customers’ privacy.
The Device blends the maximum of BB security and productivity with the extensive mobile application ecosystem accessible at the Android platform,” says Mr. Chen.
It will appear by the end of 2015 in major markets and online stores, and Blackberry will unveil additional details in the next few weeks. Chen state that the "Priv" was one of the BlackBerry devices that would provide the company with "modest sequential income growth" in the remaining quarters of the fiscal year. -- Source.
BlackBerry is representing the handset as 'Flagship Slider Device' the phone as its "flagship slider device," but emphasized that it does not deliver the BlackBerry 10 operating system, that will be updated to version 10.3.3 in March 2016.
